First, you need to go through standard marriage procedures. That is, talk to Maramal at the Temple of Mara in Riften, inquire about marriage, and then purchase the Amulet of Mara from him.
After Harkon is killed through Dawnguard's main storyline, tell Serana's mother, Valerica, that it's safe to return to Castle Volkihar. Talk to Serana. You should see additional dialogue that lets you ask if Serana has something on her mind.
This should open up the standard marriage options you receive for other in-game marriable NPCs. Note that you can't already be married if you want Serana as a wife.
So good luck on divorcing your current spouse by any means should you have to resort to this. Serana's spousal benefits are quite complete. She'll provide a home-cooked meal daily, she has the Spouse Merchant ability , and has unique, fully-voiced dialogue.
Unfortunately, that means there are hundreds more that can not be married, that is, without a little mod magic. In this guide, we'll be teaching you everything you need to know about the vampire Serana: Who is Serana, how do you get married, and how do you mod your game so you can marry Serana.
Serana is a vampire featured in the Skyrim expansion Dawnguard. You'll first meet Serana during the "Awakening" quest in the Dimhollow Crypt while investigating the Hall of the Vigilant attack.
After setting her free, Serana will ask you to help her get home to Castle Volkihar in order to find out what happened to her mother Valerica. Serana is one of the only known pureblood vampires, and as such, is titled one of the "Daughters of Coldharbour. Lord Harkon discovers a prophecy called the Tyranny of the Sun, which has led him to believe that by collecting a series of artifacts, including two elder scrolls, and sacrificing Serana, he can purge sunlight from the world, giving vampires the ability to walk freely day and night.
In order to get married in Skyrim , you must first complete the quest "The Bonds of Matrimony. Maramal will instruct you to procure an Amulet of Mara. Maramel will sell you the amulet for gold, but there are other ways to obtain one.
You can also find an amulet in random loot and shops. Once you have the amulet, identify the person you would like to marry, and speak to them while wearing the amulet to propose. It's not that i don't like Serana, because she's my most favourite character in the game and the most interesting although the latter fades away as quickly as the DLC ends.
Bethesda made all of it to fill the story and didn't even touch her in another aspects, including extending the "romance thing" at least a bit further but they of course were only sticking to marriage in the whole game while this system kinda sucks - "oh you're back from adventures" "hello darling" etc. Because of this fact it would be irrelevant to make Serana marriagable as she would have all these quotes mentioned above and they didn't want that to happen.
But even Kharjo's "Khajiit will follow" doesn't make a bigger difference after you finish DG as you can give him heavy armor, any weapon, shield and be sure that he'll tank everything and never die he has quite big amount of hp considering the fact he's attacked by 50 bandits with highest levels possible.
And he has the same variety od dialogues expect for Serana's biting changing into VL and asking her for bloodcursed arrows times. Everyone seems to worry tha Serena will become a house wife saying "Hello sweetie", etc.
They should make her marriable, but not like make her like the others, but expand on what she is. She can become a wife that will strife to protect her husband Dragonborn , she can come along on adventures and quests! That's the wife I wanna have on Skyrim The one mod of this type I'm familiar with, "marriable Serana" in the steam workshop as well as nexus isn't going to be your ideal scenario, but it does allow you to not only marry her and have her as your wife but you can also live in pretty much any place you want.
On one of my old saves I have her living at Severin Manor in Raven Rock, something you can't do with any other npc's, at least not without other mods. There are cons however. Her dialogues for this process and marriage are kind of limited in my opinion.
There needs to be more interactions with her as your wife and there just isn't. Also, she won't sleep, ever, even in human form. You can take her as your follower and then 'tell' her to lie down, but that's as far as her sleeping goes. I didn't adopt kids in that save as yet, but you'd need another mod to get them to live anywhere other than the vanilla houses.
