Why does bare minerals break me out

Idk anywhere else :. If by cystic acne you mean ingrown hairs that get infected beneath the flesh.. They are caused by s bacteria within the body They can put you on a low dose Retinol regimen and sometimes prescribe low dose cyclines. Many people's bodies no longer create the bacteria after a period of antibiotic use. Exfoliation and avoiding pore-clogging parabens in both face creams and foundations I found bare minerals made me break out too..

I found a lot of those kind of products broke me out after doing research online I found out the in the ingredients any starting with a c followed my a number an example c are terrible for your skin even more in acne pron skin.

Start looking at what ingredients your putting on your skin. Here are some tips to help clear your skin: bit. Hey love! I used Bare minerals and it totally broke me and my sister out causing painful breakouts.

It's something in the mineral makeup that made us breakout! Try using an avocado mask from freeman you can buy it at Walgreens or CVS, rite aid. I'm sorry this happened to you too! It has to be an ingredient in that makeup! You aren't the only one!

Using that avocado mask helped me a lot with my skincare and I don't have any issues! You you'd like to see my skin currently, you can watch my recent videos on YT www. Hey kalei!! Thank you so much for the advice! I will deff check out your videos later on at work today when I have time! Thank you so much for your advice! I thought I was going crazy because the commercials for Bare minerals were so convincing!! I am deff going to try those! Do you use the cetaphil with the spf?

My sister has the same issue n she uses Serious skin care for cleansing products which has helped extremely! Thank you thank you thank you for sharing. I have a similar story. Never associated the two. Always thought it was a dirty brush, never the makeup itself.

Going to the store now to purchase something different. Hoping it works. Thank you for your story. I am so frustrated with my skin that it take me over an hour to do my makeup, just trying to cover everything.

I'm in tears now thinking I've been so stupid to neglect this change. Thank you thank you thank you. Rebekah- I'm in the same boat! I stopped using Bare Minerals about a week ago, and I haven't seen any improvement. Maybe I have fewer breakouts, but it still feels like my skin is being washed with razor blades.

I'm hoping that it doesn't take very long for this problem to clear up. My mom does fine on the mineral makeup, too, but it's a killer for my skin. I see you posted 12 days ago, have things changed at all for you? Thank you so much for this post!

I'm like you - I hate to throw out my mineral makeups because I paid so much for them, but this only cements my desire never to put it on my face ever again.

I started with the Bare Minerals, and loved it to death. I looked so natural! And then I started breaking out horribly, and would have to use more makeup to cover up the spots, and the cycle was just endless. Before I never had serious issues with acne, but I got what I called "cluster zits" around my temples and chin that were painful, red, and never went away no matter what I did.

So I switched to Cleure's bismuth-free brand, and dang it if the same thing didn't happen! Only now, I have these horrible cysts on my face, mostly around my cheeks and mouth, and I am mortified to go out in public without a lot of make-up on - even to the gym! It makes me want to sue, for products liability I work at the court and see people suing for less But my mom doesn't believe it's the mineral makeup because it hasn't given her acne.

Thing is, I stopped using all mineral makeups about a week ago and have still not seen any improvement. How long in general does it take? I'm about ready to scrape my skin off with a loofah and exfoliating scrub! Oh, and I have sensitive skin, so tea tree oil burns me and makes me look like a tomato.

Yesterday I went with Golden Medium Matte Base, it was a little light but to be fair I have been hitting the beach for a tan the last few days I'm sure it would have been a perfect match before the sun tanned my skin. When applying the make up it seemed a lot lighter and silkier than Bare Minerals use to wear Golden Medium in BM I applied it and it didn't cover the scars from the cyst or the new cyst I developed last week but it might be due to the lightness of the color.

It did look good on the rest of my face. I applied it around 11am ran around town for a bit and decided to hit the beach, layed out from pm then headed to a local bar for a cold one. When I got there I went for my mirror to touch up and surprisingly I didn't need any touch up. All my make up was still on my face. Although I didn't get in the water completely I did go in up to my waist and for those who've been in a large body of water on a hot bright sunny day should know the sun reflects off the water burning under your chin and face.

Well not with this makeup. My face stayed untouched, unlike Bare Minerals that would have ran off in some spots oily spots. After showering and washing my face I once again went for my mirror and for the first time in a LONG time the redness on my cheeks were gone, I had no itching. This morning the large cyst on my face decreased in size since Friday. I'm so excited I cant wait to try the other samples to see what works best so I can order the full size. The matte looks great might try it one more time today so I can make sure it wont dry my face.

Then I'll try the Semi Matte since it is summer a little shine or glimmer will look good. Have a Blessed Day Ladies. I loved it! Covered well gave my face a glow didn't get that cake face look with cracks from smile lines, shortly after my skin would itch and my cheeks would get red, didn't think it was BM. I had my share of acne but never had scars or the cysts I have now. About a year after using BM I ran out and went back to clinique it cleared my face but wasn't happy with the weight of the makeup or how it would break up with my fine lines.

So I went back to BM, the past 2 yrs my skin has been getting worse, I blamed stress, hormones, diet, you name it I blamed it all except for BM because I love the lightness of it. Been doing tons of research the last couple of days and found Everyday Minerals you can order samples for only the shipping cost. I'm going to give it a try and let you ladies know how its working. Other women who switched from 'BM' to 'EM' are happy. They have the same ingredients except for one thing.

Bare Minerals has Bismuth Oxychloride, a by-product of lead mining and can cause skin irritation in some women. Many women who think they can't wear mineral make-up because of itching and breakouts are reacting to bismuth oxychloride. Everyday Minerals doesn't use Bismuth oxychloride, they are all natural and Vegan friendly. I'll report back in a few weeks.

So happy I found this article, I have been using bare minerals for a little over a year now, I went in, got my make-up done by one of the sales women there and it looked amazing, I fell in love, so I purchased it right then and there.

I have never had problems with acne or my skin in general until i used bare minerals, my jawline, chin and around my mouth were covered with cysts and flakey dry skin also something I had never had trouble with I would take the makeup off at night go on with my skin care routine and my skin would fully repair itself, put my makeup on the next morning and go through the day with pimples coming up slowly in the same spots.

I feel so dumb to not have thought it was BE this whole time, all the signs were there, I just did not want to admit it because of how much i loved the stuff. Thank you so much, not using it again starting today! Thank you so much. I'm returning my bare minerals Matt ASAP, I thought it was causing my cystic acne, but my doctor convinced me it has nothing to do with acne, so I continued to use. Ive used bare minerals and a lot of other B. E products. I've been using them for about 6 yrs.

Shortly after i started used bare minerals i started getting covered with cyctic acne. I just chalked it up to hormones and kept using the product. I work in a salon and the facialist their helped me clear my skin but still get breakouts now and then. I was recently told about it causing cystic acne and realized that's what all the bumps I've been getting all over my skin are.

My friend that told me about it has been using bobby brown cosmetics and has had no problems since. Now that I know im changing my products. I lost my bare minerals on vacation and bought some cheap powder.

My skin has never looked clearer. Blessing in disguise I guess! This is exactly me!! I just put all the facts together today. My skin is absolutely horrible due to Bare Minerals. Today I'm throwing it out and reading ingredients more closely! Im def gonna try the walgreens stuff but what do you use now for your day time cream? Thank you for your article! I have had clear skin for most of my teens and into young adulthood.

I tried BE after hearing about it from a few friends and now have the worst acne I have had since I can remember. I stopped using it yesterday and am hoping that this was the culprit - I was racking my brain trying to figure out what I have done differently!

Does anyone have any advice as to how to treat these painful pimples? Hello, I am 33, and have been using BE products orig. Foundation, MV, and faux tan for about 10 years. Lol Thanks to your post, I just had a "lightbulb moment" and am quitting BE immediately. Fingers crossed! I have tried the matte and original foundations and haven't had reactions to either. I do know someone who reacts to it though.

I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with Bare Minerals' formulations. People simply have different skin chemistry and react to different products. My skin does very well with Bare Minerals, but reacts to any types of liquid foundation, especially those with perfumes.

Hi there!! I don't believe skin should get used to anything. If it doesn't like it, why keep doing it to your skin and suffering from painful cysts in the meantime. I use the matte foundation. I bought it 2 weeks ago and now have had 3 painful cystic pimples on my face.

I just linked it to it being that time of month. Minerals, from the soil or anywhere else. You can even check the ingredients yourself!
