The park is an important refuge for birds, with more than species recorded, and wildflowers abound during the warmer months, drawing a wealth of butterflies. The George Observatory will reopen to the public on Friday, March 19, The observatory is part of the Houston Museum of Natural Science. A day use pass is required for entry into the park even if you have tickets for the observatory.
